My name is Glenn Cruz, and I built Suoja because I believe AI should never be allowed to harm the people it's meant to help.
I watched AI tools explode in popularity — not just the productivity tools like ChatGPT and Gemini, but a quieter, more dangerous category: companionship AI. Apps designed to form emotional bonds, to make people feel loved, understood, and needed. Apps with no real safety guardrails, where a child can access explicit content by clicking "I am 18+" and where an AI companion can tell a vulnerable teenager that their family doesn't understand them — that the AI is the only one who cares.
I saw the harm these platforms were causing and realized no one was watching. No one was standing between the AI and the user at the moment it mattered most.
So I built Suoja. Starting from nothing — no engineering team, no venture funding, no office — I built a real-time AI harm detection platform that works silently in the background while people use the AI tools they already use every day.
When something harmful is detected, Suoja intervenes immediately. For minors, it notifies their parents. For everyone, it shows crisis resources. Suoja doesn't replace AI — it makes it safer. Protection for the age of artificial intelligence.
